At some point in our lives we’ve all wanted to do something or be somewhere that required change. Change is hard.
It requires persistence to keep going even if you don’t want to – even when you begin to make compromises with yourself saying, “I didn’t want it that bad” or “I’m happy where I am today” but you know in the back of your head it’s not true.
It requires honesty. We lie to ourselves all the time. We say we want to get healthier. We make some effort and convince ourselves that we gave it our all. But did we really? If we want to change, we need to be honest with where we are today and the effort we are putting in every single day.
It requires a shift in perspectives. In getting healthier, I had to change the way I viewed food and fitness. I’m learning to see food as fuel and not a reward. I needed to view fitness as a way to give me energy and stimulate my brain and not as a punishment.
It requires constant focus on my why. By staying focused on why helps me to stay on track with my goals.
